Testing out a new Pentax KX film camera body at the last Japanese Car Spotting WA event was a painful experience to say the least. Light metering issues and intermittent showers really spiced things up. Nonetheless, it was all worth it looking back at these images. I opted to use one of my favourite go-to lenses, the Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4. Pushing Kodak ColorPlus 200 +1 stop to 400 was a bit of fun and I didn't know what to expect. Overall, I am really impressed with the results and surprisingly enjoy the muted rustic look. Great to see so many nice Hondas out and about! Datsuns in the Park 2018 Datsuns in the Park/Z-Day was a fantastic event last weekend. Overcast skies didn't stop these enthusiasts from showing off their passion. The numbers were huge for such a unique Japanese classic, making it well worth the visit. From stock to highly modified, there was a Datsun to suit every taste and the quality of ownership was incredible. A massive credit to these owners and their attention to detail. I was blown away by these immaculate cars. Follow Koi Collective on Instagram and Facebook
Coming into wet season, I thought it would be a good time to dig out these old snaps from back in September 2021 attending Classic Cars & Coffee at UWA. It was a rainy morning trying out some Ilford Delta 100 black & white film using my Pentax K1000. The grain is so fine that you could almost mistake these for digital images. Lots of contrast and sharp detail make this stock what I would describe as a pretty rich and punchy b&w film. The Autozam AZ-1 was definitely a highlight of the morning and it really pulled a crowd. Make sure to come and check out the JDM Prefecture at Classic Cars & Coffee tomorrow. Scroll to the end to see some colour! Follow Koi Collective on Instagram , Facebook , YouTube & TikTok
